If you mean the locking lug nuts on each wheel the answer is yes.

 

The wheel locks are actually part of the Preferred Accessory Package. You also get the cargo net and trunk mat.

Every package above the base package includes it, so you are set.

 

Hopefully the dealer throws in the wheel locks for free. You can remove those wheel locks just as easy as regular lug nuts. When I lost my lock key, I just used a regular 19mm 16 point socket and a breaker bar to removed them. After that I just installed regular lugs as I no longer felt the special locking lug was worth it.

Wheels get stolen with or without locks since it doesn't take much effort to remove a wheel lock in the first place. That was my point. It offers little security since you can remove the lock without the lock key with regular conventional tools in 30 seconds or less. I guess if you want them that is fine. Just don't trick yourself into false security. It is definitely more secure than regular lug nuts, but marginally so.

Also, I have to point out it depends on which type of lug lock you are using. The closed McGurd one used on most Lexus cars is the one I'm talking about. The open wheel lock lug was different and was a little harder to take off. Not to mention a lot of dealerships and independent mechanic shops have the keys to many of these wheel locks if they deal with the brand a lot. When I bought my used LS400, they didn't give me the lock key, so I took it to a automotive shop and the guy just grabbed the key from his collection and took it off.

Another story I'll add is my wheel lock key for my 04 RX330 was the same for my 94 ES300 and my moms 92 ES300. I tried it on all cars and it was the same.

 

Any type of security system is marginally better than nothing! The main purpose of these systems is to slow down a thief, and if that's what the McGard locks do, then I'll continue to use them!

 

if you have $6000 wheels, all you have to do is break a glass, pop the trunk, and take the wheel key.

how many of you guys take the key with you? probably no one.

99% of people don't want these ugly, small lexus wheels.

 

I found the wheel locks annoying and replaced them with regular lugs. It was too much hassle using the key to undo the lugs. I broke my first key trying to get them off and had to wait until Mcgard sent me a new one so that I could switch to my summer wheels, which cost $14.95 by the way.

That is fine. As long as you are happy and don't have a false sense of security. I probably would use them as well if they were free. All I'm relaying is I took them off myself without a lock key and it was as easy as taking off a regular lug nut. My bet is if someone is going to take the time to jack up the car and take the rims, an extra 15-30 seconds on each lug nut is probably not going to stop them. You can take them off with a regular socket so I just don't see the security. Anyway, I don't even run wheel locks on my aftermarket rims which cost a lot more and probably have more theft appeal to them.
