Lexus Dashcam
When it's recording, it saves to the SD Card and it will not impact CarPlay. It only impacts when you download videos from the dashcam.
That is the integrated dashcam that is new in the US.

I have a 2024 model with the Lexus dash cam and love it; There are a few things to consider
- If you have a wireless CarPlay or Android auto setup, you must disconnect the direct wifi with the car and then connect to the dashcam.
- The dashcam comes with a 16GB MicroSD card, which is suitable maybe for one day (YMMV), I swapped the SD card for w/o any issue ( you need an industrial card that can sustain the heat.
- The camera is only capable of to1080P/60
- Lexus has a Windows and Mac Application if needed

I believe it has a parking mode available, but to use it you may need to find an alternate power source. I think the included power cable is designed to plug into existing harness by the existing LSS camera that only gets power when the ignition is on. To use parking mode with just about any dash cam, it needs to be wired to always on power. Some dash cams have kits that either come with a battery for providing parking power, or those that wire directly into fuse box, have an interrupter that will cut it off if the car battery gets too weak (to prevent it from going flat).
Dashcams that use Wi-Fi to connect will have to disconnect CarPlay. CarPlay uses both WiFi and Bluetooth. Unfortunately that is how it works. This is not a fitcamx limitation, but most dashcams on the market. You only need to connect to the fitcamx when you want to view the clips. Why would you want both connected?

hi. They seemed to have sent me the wrong shell. So I removed the old camera and now I’m stuck. I reached out to them. But I’m thinking that I should just scrap this and get the OEM Dashcam. Which I can order for $300 including the wire kit. I can’t imagine it being any harder to install??? 🤞
