Default Why Lexus Convertible is not popular?

I don't see many IS250C Convertibles on the road. Neither dealers carry many in their inventory. They just have only one. No dealer has 350C in their inventory
Is Lexus IS 250/350 C a sales failure?

i don't think it's ugly, although that's subjective. that said, it's not the prettiest of the bunch. it is a bit expensive for what you get as well. slow, though? is the IS350C slow? i don't think it's much slower than the 2IS 350 nor the 3IS 350. its 0-60 time is 5.7 seconds. not terribly fast, but no snail either.

anyhow, the new convertible is going to be based on the RC, though, right?

That's because it's for the older people who are in their 50s+. While the 2IS & 3IS is for the younger generations.

A good convertible is evocative of a good motorcycle: fast, compact, sleek, exotic, and fits a max of two people.

The IS-C is none of these.

Now, give me a convertible F-Type, Boxster, or Vantage: now those have the qualities to fit the category.

Lexus makes the worst convertible imo. I wish they can learn a little from Porsche. Now if they make the RC convertible. That might get my attention.

It should be noted that the current convertible was STILL a 2IS and never updated. It has been dropped from the lineup in Canada.

For me, the styling is not appealing enough thanks to the bulky rear end.

I think the biggest reason is because the IS Convertible they're selling is still the old body style. The RC has been on the market for at least a year now it's about time they introduce it's convertible counterpart.

Plus the car as it stands is not particularly attractive and just looks like an afterthought, which it was.

Even in its time, the 2IS Convertible didn't sell.
If they made it look better, it would have sold much better.

How did this attractive 2IS sedan boot and stylish tail light lenses, become the bland 2IS Convertible boot below?

Below, the 2IS Convertible boot is unattractive, while the tail light lenses are bland:

Below is only a Photoshop rendering [ie presently a 3IS Convertible doesn't exist], but something good looking like this would sell:
