Driving down the interstate out of no where I got a pop up on my screen that asks for my PIn #. I have never had to enter it before , maybe when I first bought the car. Why now? nothing works now.

I don't remember the pin. So when I was stopped I hit the reset button and had to pair my phone. My phone was disabled by this. I finally reset a new pin # and it seems to working for now. What other nonsense is Lexus going hit me with? I find the new infotainment system awful. It's not user friendly and requires too many screen presses to try and get what you want. It's really dangerous driving. Lexus needs to rethink this mess. I want more buttons back also. This annoyance is enough to make think of trading in the car, don't need this aggravation.

Thanks for the link. I missed that thread somehow. Reading thru all the posts it seems there is no fix for this problem. I haven't watched the 2 utube videos posted. I'm too aggravated to watch them right now.

Lexus has no response to this issue to it's customers?

Why do we need a pin number in the first place?

 

So if someone steals your car they can't listen to you satellite radio channels? I think I'm one of the few here that also thinks the Lexus Interface is less that wonderful.

Luckily, my 3 months trial satellite radio subscription expired already. Nothing to steal!

 

Your probably one of "many" not one of the few. Most of the new tech on the 22-23 NX and 23 RX is overkill. The PIN, cloud based Nav and "hey Lexus" ( poor copy of Alexa or Google), TPMS and a few other things are not needed, poorly done and etc. Hopefully next year the supply of BMWs will improve.

Thanks, but that fix requires you know the pin. I forgot mine and could not fix the issue while driving the interstate, so no service. Just sucks.

 

I was trying to be nice. I honestly think the whole system is a big cluster. If I ever replace my aging RX it will likely be a pre-2023 model before the Lexus Interface and the turbo 4 cyl.

 

this was happening with my wifes new car, no cell reception at home we use wifi calling.

there is a bug in the username/password prompt. If you have a 2 capital letters in you password it will not allow you to uppercase the 2nd letter on the NX screen. Just need to figure out how to tell Lexus.

we got around it by resetting the pin in the app and then starting the car again

 

I’ve been lucky. I only take my key with me when I go distances. Otherwise, I just use my phone as a key.

 

That's interesting but there is no mention of how to keep this from reoccurring. I get this pop up repeatedly while driving. Do they expect me to just keep on stopping every time it happens? If I don't enter the pin and just cancel the pop up, Carplay is available again after a few seconds. Still very annoying.
