Why can't I keep my map visible while on a phone call?
I have a 2017 IS 250 (2017 nav software). When I have my map screen visible and receive/make a bluetooth phone call, the map totally disappears for the duration of the call. It's OK when I'm in familiar territory but exasperating (and possibly dangerous) when I'm not - especially at night. The only solution I can think of is to get out of hands-free free for the phone call - which is dangerous. Is there a way to keep at least 1/2 of the map screen visible while on a phone call - even if the audible directions are cut off? Hoping there is a solution!

I have 2016 GS 350 I have the 12.3 in the screen so when I receive a phone call while on the map screen the phone info takes part of the screen the rest left for the nav. If you hit the map button does it hid the phone info?

This should be able to be done. My LS has it where a 1/3 of the screen stays on the phone call and the 2/3 balance is the map, or whatever other screen I had as primary.
Since the IS doesn't necessarily function that way due to reduction in screen size, you can still hit the 'menu' button I believe and select the map button.
If my LS didnt have the primary screen in the "map" mode, I could always hit the "menu" button and it would default back to it if I needed it, I'm pretty sure the IS could do the same (?)

I tried it again today on my commute and . . . it worked! The map came back (full screen) during my phone call. I thought I had selected the map button before in the middle of a call - but I'm guessing I didn't hit it hard enough. Thank YOU!

As per my response below, I tried it again . . . and it worked! I must have not hit the nav/map button hard enough before during my call. Thank you so much for your prompt and helpful reply!

I'm glad you found a way to get back to the map screen! Check in your settings as well for the Phone section, because I'm pretty sure I have an option for "full screen call" or just a popup... (2016, non-nav model)
