Default New wheel tpms question ?

Hey everyone ! I will be getting my nx this week and want to keep the stock 18s and tpms for my winter setup and purchase new 20 inch summer wheels is it necessary that I put in another set of tpms or can I just install the wheels without I’m not too motivated to keep reprogramming each set every time I switch sets ? Will I be getting the dash light ?

thanks

You will need to get another set and program them. Otherwise, the light will stay on if they are on the car. Been there, done that.

First time I swapped winters to summers I didn't have a TPMS programmer yet and drove for a couple weeks without changing sensor id's and it never complained or had any lights.

Hi no1, my wife will be getting her new nx300 soon and have been thinking winter tire/wheel package for it. We have a winter package with 2017 RDX w/ TPMS which are also 315MHz but they auto learn when you swap wheels.

I was hoping to use the RDX package with correct size centering rings but TPMS may not be compatible with nx300. Any thoughts on this? Also, it sounds like you found a programmer. What did you buy/borrow so I can consider one for purchase?

Thanks,
Jacques

NX needs OBE relearning procedure. You can try ATEQ Quickset TMPS but you need to know the TPMS senor IDs -
https://www.amazon.com/ATEQ-QuickSet-TPMS-Reset-Tool/dp/B008SCWXN4. https://www.amazon.com/ATEQ-QuickSet-TPMS-Reset-Tool/dp/B008SCWXN4.

I ended up picking up Autel maxi TPMS TS508. It can read and relearn procedure and tire order. http://www.maxitpms.com/tpmscms/product/701.jhtml

The seller for the TS508 best price imo
https://www.ebay.ca/usr/auteldeals?_...72.m2749.l2754

Good luck.

Autel TS5xx or TS6xx will do the job. I have a TS501.

Or get a Cloned TPMS kit.. No need to do anything in every flip. If NX had 2 TPMS config holder we wouldn't have this issue. I think the RX series can store 2 set of TPMS.

Hi Balance 101, Ended up ordering a tp508 from the ebay seller you suggested. Very nice! We also purchased a winter set or wheels/tires from Lexus for the NX300.

Is the best plan to read the summer set (currently on car) TPMS IDs with the tool and then use the same IDs for each corresponding winter wheel location when installed so the computer thinks they are the same?
