Default Nx200t windshield replacement options

Hello Everyone! I’m very close on closing a deal on a 2017 nx200t F sport 2 that is for sale at a Toyota dealer . The windshield is cracked and it will be replaced as part of the deal . I think that the windshield will be replaced by a aftermarket one can this cause any issues the fact that it’s not oem ?

Probably not, I have had a few windshields replaced over the years and have never had any issues. PGW seems to be very common in my area. As long as it matches your windshield specs and the installer is good, you should have no issues.

But if you are buying it from a Toyota Dealer, I would try to get them to replace with OEM as part of the deal, they have the logistics to get it and fast. But since OEM usually is double the cost of say PGW, I can see why they're trying to short you on this.

thanks for the reply ! the f-Sport 2 model in Canada has rain sensing wipers does this need a different windshield from the models that do not have this option ? And I have also read that the oem windshield is acoustic .

Yes, heated and rain sensor windshields are different from standard windshields. Don't quote me but I do not think the NX is acoustic glass, I just had my windshield cowl off running wire and it did not look like a double plane. Acoustic glass is usually reserved for flagship vehicles like the LS and LC.

You are unlikely to find this option on a new NX being sold in the southern US states. May only be available as part of a trim package in your Province.
If you cannot find the wire embedded in your existing windshield, then no need to be concerned about the replacement.
A recent poster on this forum had his windshield replaced, and his new one included the deicer wire, even though his original windshield did not. He was seeking advice on how to make it active.

thanks for the reply but the thing is that the windshield has already been replaced the one on the car is not the original it has already been replaced once and the dealer will have to replace again so I’m not sure if they installed the proper one

after some non stop research i have found out that the heated wipers are standard on all models here in Canada . So I will have to make sure that that the seller needs to replace it with the heating elements in the windshield
thanks for the info I would not have guessed that this was an option
