I bought a second downpipe for my NX and removed all the material internally that constitutes the catalytic converter. I figure we don't drive race cars so I don't need a 500-1200 dollar custom piece downpipe. Looks and bolts up like a stock piece, because it is. Nothing inside to inhibit exhaust flow.
Eww...have you ever run catless before? Enjoy your car stinking like rotten eggs every day. Also, thanks for poluting more than necessary. The point of aftermarket downpipes is you get high flow catalytic converters so that you're still cleaning up the exhaust without the loss in performance from the stock cat.

Did you just say "eww"? What is this, Mean Girls? Yeah, I have run catless. It does not have a smell. And before you hoped on that high horse, you should have check 90% of the downpipe upgrades installed, they are catless.

Right, 90%, where did you pull that number from? your ***?
Catless does stink, is generally a bad idea, and doesn't give you anything over a catted downpipe. The only point of running catless is a) you're a cheap *** or b) you're a ricer. I've worked on a variety of platforms other than Lexus, have experienced people who insist on going catless, the disgusting stench of their cars, and the terrible sound their cars make from nearly nothing muffling the exhaust.
One, calm down CPT planet. This was/is done because the alternative options are WAY overpriced. Secondly, the NX is a company freebee that I never drive. I have a 13 Taurus SHO for daily which has cats. lastly, I don't need your link to know about the smell, I drive the car... it does not smell.
As for the statement that there is no advantage with no cat.. You know that is wrong. Even the BEST catalytic converters on the market have a 5-12% restriction of flow compared to not. I know that isn't much and as I said, these are not race cars BUT I'm not paying $1000 to have a catted version. This thing was $150.

1) Modding a company car is wrong, I bet you didn't ask for permission.
2) Why spend any time modding it if you don't drive it?
3) Not on the inside maybe.
4) It's not wrong, given the exhaust size and output of this engine, there is an abundance of flow already.
5) Way to waste $150.
You seem super uptight so I thought I'd share this to twist your nips... On my SHO, I just pulled the massaging, cooling, and heated seats for race buckets. Oh my!! Think of the children.. right?
That being said, usually catless downpipes smell is because they attach it with an exhaust that's straight through with no muffler. Chances are OP has a stock exhaust and all that stench is probably held there.
Then again, who cares if it smells or doesn't. It's OP's car. Let him have his fun.
Eh, regardless of the resulting environmental impact or not (newsflash: there is, and it's not worth it), going through the trouble and effort to de-cat a 240hp 4-banger SUV that weighs 4,000 lbs isn't good use of your time. So you can go 0-60 in 6.7s, vs 6.9, all while spewing needless crap into the air. And if you de-catted your car, there is definitely smell. And no the smell doesn't get "stuck in the muffler." Obvious attempt to save face. If you are happy and proud of what you did, just own it.
Enjoy your car for what it is.
Also Pro Tip: In California, you can report any and all such cars to the state using your cell phone. That will trigger an automatic required inspection and massive fines if anyones caught jerking their cars off like this. https://ww3.arb.ca.gov/enf/complaints/svc2.htm
Damn, sure glad I don't live in California... Mad at your neighbor, call in their car for inspection.
Also, I never said anything about smells in mufflers to save face..
