Default tailgate rusting badly

so i decided to detail my car for spring. I took off the license plate and i was shocked. there is a big amount of rust coming from the license plate screw holes, and there are also some spots of rust showing up on the tailgate. is this covered under the corrosion warranty? i was the car frequently and i did not expect this much rust to occur. the vehicle just turned 5 years old.

Almost all OEM rust warranties state "rust through" which means surface rust and bubbling aren't covered. Only when the rust is bad enough that it eats through the panel so you can see through it is it covered, which rarely happens.

Can you post a photo of the screws that were removed? The Lexus OEM screws on my NX are nylon to prevent the corrosion that rapidly forms where dissimilar metals contact each other in the presence of moisture. My Toyota used stainless steel screws with nylon inserts in the mounting holes to prevent direct metal-to-metal contact.
