My 2019 NX F Sport AWD is lowered on RS-R Downs springs and running 20x9 with 35mm wheels on 245/45/20 tires. My car has never scraped and hardly looks lowered even though it is. I was never quite happy with how the rear wheels sat under the fender well. Until today. I ordered Ichiba spacers for the rear and while they perform as expected and the looks are exactly what I was going for, now I am getting scraping on the rear tires when turning into a "dipped" style driveway or parking lot.
So my question is to the guys who are lowered and running aftermarket wheels that sit flush with the fender wells, are you experiencing any scraping issues? What can be done to remedy the scraping? I know, I can always remove the spacers and have it sit more inward, but it looks exactly like I like it now.
My man, I am also lowered on RSR springs, previously I had the OEM 18inch wheels and 19inch FSport wheels running with 15mm front and 25mm rear with absolutely no issues. Recently I added a set of 20inch RX350 wheels on the ride and the spacers had the car sitting perfect, flush front and rear, but that’s when I encountered the same issue. You have - couple choices, you can cut the fenders ( I don’t recommend), or go with a lower spaced size. I ended up removing mine altogether today and although the looks aren’t as sharp the ride quality is better now as there is no vibration in the car.
For the record I bought Eibach spacers (not the cheapies) and still experienced vibration, not sure why and I understand others claim to not have this same issue but I don’t think I’m going back to them
Yeah mine will be coming off tomorrow. They scraped this morning turning into our work parking lot and it isn't even dipped at all. I did use 25mm spacers and could probably make 15mm work, but it still wouldn't achieve the look I am wanting. So I will just remove them and put them on my wife's RC in the rear. Her car isn't lowered so it should be fine.
I will say I have not experienced ANY vibration from these spacers. They are hub centric and line up perfectly, and I am running the correct hub rings on my wheels. Not sure about Eibach spacers? I know the Ichiba and H&R are hub centric to our cars and fit perfectly.
Your car looks so clean! The factory wheels powder coated black look nice! Did you paint the wheel arches? If so, I would be interested in doing the same if you wanna share...

Did you figure out what part is scraping. It’s odd that you are scraping on RSR springs and it is also concerning. I am lowered 3” in the back. I have my kit in the shop getting prepped for install. I am trying to order wheels with reasonable yet aggressive clearance. I can’t afford to have the tires hit my wide body flares since it will break.
yes i figured out what was scraping but i removed my spacers after 32 miles because i didn't want to start trimming plastic. i was using 25mm spacers which sat the wheels perfectly flush and i loved the look. but i am not going to cut on a brand new car to fix the problem. i am just going to live with the wheels being tucked in a little. i do have the spacers for sale if interested, so PM me if you would like.
the part that was rubbing was where the plastic on the fender meets the door and actually starts in the fender. it is wider there than on the door. i probably could have trimmed it there and been fine. but since it wasn't rubbing before the spacers, i just took them off. a 15mm or 20mm spacer would have PROBABLY been fine, but still not what i was after so i didn't even attempt them.
i had plans for this car actually, but since it is a daily driver for me i am not doing anything else to it. it is lowered with wheels/tires on it and that is all it needs really. it isn't a performance vehicle, so after some thought it makes no sense to spend money on go fast items.
i am running 245/45/20 tires by the way...hope this helps you.
do you know what your camber is on the rear? I am actually planning to order 20x10 +16 for the rear with 255/40/20 tires. I believe I will have a bit more clearance since my flares will be replaced. I also run adjustable camber kit so I can adjust that a bit to avoid rubbing. I am curious tho since this is really good info.
If you can give me until morning I can find out for you. I have the paperwork of my alignment at home and I currently am not there.
So I test mounted my other wheels to gauge sizing. I used 20x9.5 + 18 with 245/40/20. Front sticks out 20mm exactly. Rear is still sunken in but I am definitely hitting the same plastic piece as you. My artisan spirit fender flares are 35mm wide and I have to go wider in rear. The only solution is to shave the rear a bit. The front are good if you plan on going flares but way too aggressive for stock body with zero camber
My rear camber is: Left Rear -1.8 degrees and Right Rear is -2.1 degrees.
That is the closest they could get it without a camber kit or camber correction. I don't know how people are stuffing wider rims under these cars without cutting the plastic. mine rubbed going in a straight line hitting a dip on a bridge and it's only lowered 1.5".

That camber setting is good without a kit. I run a kit and I am lowered quite a bit and the closest they can get is -1.7. My other solution is to go full hard on dampening so that it has minimal bounce since I am on coilovers. That may solve the problem too.
yeah I think with coilovers it's possible to set the dampers so they won't scrape but with just springs, no way without cutting. Lowering springs were never meant to work in conjunction with the factory shocks/struts. its an inexpensive way to make the car look good but not optimal.
