Default Brake fluid flush

Hi, just wondering when flushing the brake fluid, for the rear brakes, do we have to retract the automatic parking brake motor first? Or can we just leave it alone (or maybe leave it off)?

Thanks.

Just bleed the brakes and you should be fine.

Make sure you have documentation proving that this job was done. It's 35K miles maintenance and they may ask for proof.
Also, to be honest, you have brake by wire car. With infamous prone to failure brake actuator. Far I know, flush is done with Techstream. We had major **** happen when folks decided to "just bleed" their Camry Hybrids or Highlander Hybrids with brake actuators.
Just saying. You do as you wish. i'd call dealer and ask, if Techtream is required. If yes, it's heck of procedure, like 2 pages of steps to follow.

Has anyone done DIY brake fluid flush on NX? If yes, did you use Techstream or not?

Both NX200t (NX300) and the hybrid NX300h use brake by wire? I thought only the hybrids from Toyota or Lexus have those

I am just saying. You surely do have brake actuator, mine did.

What is exactly that infamous brake component that failed on many hybrid owners and that is said to be bled with Techstream as valves inside of it have to be moved with scanner. By wire or not - you have it. Wife's 2011 RX has it. $150 dealer to bleed is safe harbor to avoid any problems.

Thanks for the link, that helps a lot! I guess going back to my original question, since the instructions didn’t mention about using Techstream at all, assuming no air in ABS system, we can just leave the rear electronic brake alone and flush the fluid normally

Sorry for the late reply to my original post I have flushed my system 3 times already. I used a motive brake bleeder with a power probe Ba10 adapter , I also have a tech stream, but have not used it yet for cycling the ABS pumps. The Motive is easy enough, just fill it with with 32oz of fluid, pump it up and drain8 oz from every wheel and your done.

Thanks for chiming in, good to know it can be done like a normal brake flush! I assume you have a turbocharged model, non-hybrid, correct?
