Replace manual seats with powered ones
Hello,
Did anyone tried to replace original manual front seats with powered ones in Lexus NX?
is there existing power energy connection or it needs to be installed? If yes, how much work can it be?
any advise will help,
thanks!

LEXUS has a manual seat?
To be honest, Toyota tends to have all harnessing in place, unused plugs taped. I am almost certain you will find taped connectors underneath your seat cushion. May be covered by carpeting. So take a good look. After that, it is simple swap - remove seats completely from the floor mounting bolts and put new one in. frame should match just fine, power supply is in connector. You need complete seat made for power operation.

Yes, there are options of NX with manual version of seats like here:

I've been told in Lexus Service, that they would have to add all electric installation which would require to remove many items inside car.
I would extect to find here prepared cabled covered somewhere, so I wanted to verify this with someone who did that before.
If manual seats are not option is US market, then that question doesnt make much sense..

Nahh, it's fine. I think, you got European base model. Poland? Marek? Sie masz? I know they have dedicated models for Russia, being a very large market. Different from the US ones or European ones.
Thing is, Toyota is known for what is called lean manufacturing process. It does not make any sense to put a different harness per model or trim. So far, Honda was that way, some American cars were that way. Harness is so cheap for them to buy that why would they pay extra for various harnesses?
What dealer says is what dealer wants to profit from. Get flashlight, get under the seat, take it from there.

Just one more word. Seat sensors. You have pressure sensors in the seats, as related to SRS system. Airbags and such. What your computer will say about a "foreign" seat, that I do not know, as they are all mated from the factory. Of course, it can be re fleshed to make them work together, but that's dealer and, likely, lost warranty on seats and maybe SRS system.
Yes, Poland - sie masz!
I have the same list of doubts and questions. Experience of someone who did that before me would be great.
I dont have yet this car. it's my on list of potential new ones and I'm trying to do some research now.
