Default Radio rebooted while driving?

so I was driving today and my radio and navigation screen both turned itself off and rebooted. Anyone had this problem before? Was this some kind of on the air software update Lexus did?

the programming in the entertainment system leaves a lot to be desired, so I wouldn't worry about that unless it happens often

Ours did that about 6 months after we bought it and hasn't done it since. We've had the car for two years now.

This is the first time it happened after owning the car for 11 months. Just wondering if this is something that Lexus did for some kind of update that needed the system to reboot *shrug*

Could it be related to the Enform subscription ending or modification? Maybe the Nav needs a hard reboot OTA.

On my 2017 ES, I've had the same thing happen to me a couple of times in the 9 months since I bought the vehicle. If it was rebooting on a regular basis, I'd be concerned, but, since it has only happened a couple of times, I haven't bothered pursuing the issue with the service department at the Lexus dealer.

I do know that you can force the radio/infotainment system to reboot by holding down the volume down button on the steering wheel continuously for several seconds. In my case, I can't say for sure that, when mine has rebooted, I haven't unknowingly had a finger on that volume down button for long enough to force a reboot.

Default Looping

Happened to me too yesterday. Now it’s in a loop between the Lexus screen and the Caution screen. Radio, nav, Bluetooth, and voice command are not working. I tried holding down the volume button on the steering wheel, but that doesn’t seem to do anything. We also disconnected the battery for about an hour, which also failed to fix it. That seemed to be the fix when this happened to folks back in June 2016. Any other suggestions?

Usually thats a firmware issue. Next time you go in for service, mention that, and have them check if there is updated firmware for your vehicle.
