FYI Lexus told me the privacy glass is 20% tint with a 94% UV rejection on the hatch and 95% on the rear windows so that is better than expected. I got LLumar FormulaOne Pinnacle 30% ceramic tint on the 2 front windows Saturday and it matches great. They said they'd do 50% on the backs if I wanted more heat rejection, but to see what I though in time as it will make it darker for sure.

Default Thoughts on Tint? 35 vs 40.

Hey yall. Looking to get front windows tinted and debating on the tint below. Its Fomula One Pinnacle at 40 percent (35 is legal) and I think the sample looks good. Just debating on doing 35 at the risk of it metering 31 (not legal). Never realized how green the front windows were!

For reference, I put 50 on mine and am happy with it so I'd choose 40.

I'd personally do the 35% but I guess it all depends on where you live in terms of how strict law enforcement is. In NJ, you are not allowed to have any tint whatsoever on the front windows, but I've had 35% front and 20% rear on my past two cars and have never gotten into any trouble.

I have the 35% on my NX and it looks perfect! I could not be happier and it was a great tint on my last Lexus all the way around.

I put on 30% & with the 3% of tint in the windows, I'm right at what's legal here in CO. I also think it matches there back windows a little better too! Side view _OS

Where I live, smoked windows tells the police "SUSPENDED LICENSE, DRUGS ON BOARD", so they know to have the gun out when they approach the car.
When you get pulled over, simply put all of your windows down before s/he approaches.

For me, after working in highway safety for years the key in choosing tint is having tint that allows the other driver to see you. Putting tint so dark that no one can see you is is putting yourself and the other driver at risk.

Looks darker in an overcast day, trees behind it, and black interior. Looks good.

Default Front window tints

I plan on tinting my front windows to match the rear windows in a couple of weeks. Anyone know the tint percentage on the rear windows? I want a front tints to match with the rear tints. Also, what will be the price range for the job?

I thought about it, but ended tinting the whole car. The shop will match it for you the cost varies depending of the quality of the paper.

I did 20% and it was $50 to do the front doors and was machine cut. That also has a life time warranty against fading or turning purple.

I have my fronts tinted. However, I didn't want them exactly like the rear windows because that could draw unwanted attention by the police since front window tint is technically illegal in the state of California. The tint I do have on does look like it matches the rears some of the time. Check them out in this video of my NX. Pay no attention to the video title image below--I have the front windows down for that picture. However, they are closed and visible in most of the video ...

I'm thinking about tinting my fronts to NYC legal limit. How do shops handle the small glass area in the front?
