Don't have an NX, but I recently put 70% 3M crystalline on the windshield of my RX. It blocks about the same amount of heat as the Wincos 45 without being as dark! I can't even tell it's there at night.
CR70 is the bomb! Great heat aborption. I am not sure how crytstalline compares to other ceramic tint, but I know that Crystalline is very expensive and there are only a few places that stock it. It is worth the cost.

Got Front Windows Tinted
Got my two front windows tinted (including the quarter glass) this evening. It's the 3M brand of film, CS35. 99% UV rejection and 38% visible light transmission.
I used this company three years ago (Specialized Auto Tint in Irvine, CA) on my Volt and they did an excellent job. During the three-year lease, I never had an issue with it. I recommend them if you are in Southern California.
Anyway, it was getting dark out and I didn't get a chance to take any photos. You can rest assured, that I'll update this thread with pics soon enough!
I found that 35% was a little too light to match the factory tint. Factory tint is ~20%. I have 20%, and while the carbon tint has a blacker hue from inside the car, the front and back look identical from the outside.

As tempting as it is to have the same 20% in the front, my locale doesn't allow for this. Specifically, California law states that any film on the front windows must be clear and colorless. That said, many cars have tinted front windows, including my other cars.
So, I decided on the CS35, with is just a little lighter than the OEM tint. This give is a bit of a contrast between the two windows so, maybe—just maybe, a police officer may let it go.
Besides, my main reason for tinting is for ultraviolet ray protection, in which case my tint protects the same amount as CS20 (or even CS5, for that matter).

This particular 3M tint uses nano-carbon technology. 👍

Yeah.... I don't make decisions for my belongings based on what the police deem as acceptable. And neither do you as you have tinted your windows knowing the law. lol
My Camaro also has 20% all around and is well over 108dB at full throttle. If I get pulled over, I consider it the "Camaro tax". The cost you pay for having a nice car. I would also make the argument in PA that tint is a secondary offense, so they can't do anything unless I do something stupid first.
Same with the NX, if I give you a reason to pull me over, whatever, I'll take the extra fine.
And its so cute how they sold you on "nano" keywords. Its all the same for the most part lol
I opted to stay legal on both of our cars. Just a personal choice - One less potential hassle that I don't want. Here in IL if you have a vehicle with privacy glass (CUV, SUV, minivan etc.) no more than 50% on the driver and passenger side windows. On a sedan the darkest legal is 35% all around (except windshield). I'd prefer a little darker but not a big deal.

All my vehicles Supra, CT200h our since sold G35 my Tundra and our new NX will all be barely illegal here.
Trick is roll your window down if you get pulled over they rarely notice the tint. Cops just want to be able to see you in the rear view mirror. Also open the sunroof panel that lets lots of sun in that makes the inside brighter too.
Of course there are ****** in every crowd. Not much you can do. Here they make you take it off and prove you took it off. They did that on one of our earlier cars. I put it back on after ......never bothered again. Then there is the local cops and if one doesn't like you - you will pay the fees.
Mine are going to be 80.00 for the front two. - Most places are 120 ish depending on film.
Wow, great price.
For comparison, my NX came with dealer installed front side tint. It was listed on a side sticker as dealer installed options at price of $399. My dealer did a swap with another dealer to get the NX I wanted and the tint came with it even though i didn't order it. When I saw the price my salesman said don't worry we aren't charging you for it!.
No information came with the tint so i don't know what they used but it matches the rest of the car.
