Finally got my new 200t this week with premium package and security features. my 1st Lexus. still on the learning curve of the features. really appreciate for the help on the following 2 questions:
1. the key glove from the dealer has a small elastic belt on the middle of the top, am I supposed to cut them? Otherwise how to insert the key?
2. How to check the door is locked when I have the smart access key in pocket? it seems when I have the key in pocket and stand beside the car, the door is automatically opened.
1.The fabric elastic at the top is there to hold the key in the glove. You should be able to slide the key in the glove at an angle while stretching the elastic to the opposite side.
2. With the key fob in proximity (i.e., in your pocket), to lock the door, slide or tap your finger on the small indentation found on each of the door handles. You will hear the car lock and beep. To unlock, place your hand in the door handle and within a second, the doors unlock. At that moment, pull the handle to open the door.
I think I understand you question about checking to make sure the doors locked when touching the handle.
If you pull the handle within a second or two of locking the doors, and the door doesn't open then you locked them. There is an audible beep but I do find myself using this method whenever I have passengers in the car since you don't always know if everyone's door is closed when you go to lock the car.
You will hear a confirmation beep when you lock via touching the door handle but I agree that it's nice to be able to confirm.

If the doors are not closed when you attempt to lock, you will get a long beep indicating so.
I used to make the mistake of holding the handle and pressing the lock button with my thumb. nothing would happen cause alot of confusion til I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was probably confusing the mess out of the computer. lol
