Key troubles
Hello everyone,
I'm writing to guys for help, my 2010 IS250 battery has died and I cannot enter the vehicle. I read somewhere that you could remove the cap near the door handle and open the door manually with the key in the fob. The key unfortunately, does not open the door. The key goes into the slot, and I can turn the key but the door does not unlock. The dealer only gave me one key, could it be bad? I vaguely remember however opening the glove box with the key. What should I do in this situation? Should I pay for a new key to be made or could it be an issue with the mechanism in car lock?

UPDATE: I checked my key on the trunk it did not work as well. So I went to the Lexus dealership and got a new key made. For anyone else having this issue all you need to do is provide either registration, a title, or an insurance card to the dealership for a new key. The key costs $95.

Well, in the video you definitely toggled the lock as much as you possibly can. Try the same key in the trunk and again the glove box when able. You just might have either a defective lock mech OR that door isn't original to the car. To check the latter, find the VIN sticker on the door (I forget where it is on the driver's door) and check it against the VIN on the dash.
Gville350 thank you for the reply. After trying to unlock the trunk I realized that the dealer gave me the wrong key. I went to a Lexus dealership gave and gave them my insurance card, identification, and 117 dollars and bam new key!!
I did not buy the car directly from a Lexus dealership, but from a third party a year ago. I bought the the car from antwerpen auto world and it was probably the worst dealership I've ever dealt with.
