As for power plant, I'd read earlier that Lexus would drop the 200hp TCH drive train into the hybrid NX crossover -- that's the same one that's in the ES hybrid sedan, which would make sense for the U.S. market.

But re. the British market, this is what the article in a previous post said: "sales will kick off with the NX 300h, which will use the 2.5-litre four-cylinder 178bhp hybrid drivetrain from the IS." I don't know what IS hybrid they're talking about because there is no IS hybrid sedan here.
Wow just wow...

Ok, the Rav4 in the UK sells for £22,595. That would be $37,102 USD. But the Rav4 is only $23,550 in the US.

Need another example. The Pruis in the UK is £21,845. That would be $35,871 USD. But the Prius starts at $24,200 here in the US.

Still don't believe me? Alright.

The RX450h in the UK is £44,495. That would be $73,063 USD. And we all know that RX450h doesn't start anywhere near that high in the US. Try $46,410 instead.

Our cars aren't taxed as high as cars in E.U, Most cars sold don't go over 2l displacement because they are taxed based on it. Anything over 2.0L is considered a big engine. We also don't have to worry about VAT...

Ok doesn't that further proves mine's and spwolf's argument? And its not just in Europe; cars are pretty pricey in places like Japan as well.

The 50K price isn't the problem. It's the 50K price and getting hard plastic surfaces everywhere like the ES. $50K gets you a 2014 GX with a V8 now. Why doesn't this motor make 270hp in base trim and 300hp in F-Sport AWD? Weren't these motors supposed to leap frog the competition? I'm hoping to be surprised with a GS level interior and a 300hp F-Sport AWD option at around 50K. Hey, price it at 55K, just don't give me a bla interior and a bla motor just to keep the price at 42K.

You will not get GS interior in NX just you dont get it in X1/X3/Q1/Q3

GX seems like much better choice at $50k

If it is optioned like the X1/X3 and Q1/Q3 the it has to be priced like them too? OK, BMW X1 has a 240hp motor and I'm sure a great interior for a max price of 48K. What's Lexus including for the other 2K+? X3 tops out at 56K and it has the 300hp turbo inline 6. I just want something more for more money. I guess I will be disappointed. I know, I know, I should maybe look at another brand. Is BMW now the value play?

It would appear that this current render took the front end exposed in the presentation by Jim Lentz and used the LF-NX concept for the unexposed rear half.

Thanks for all that good information. Shows how much I know. I stand humbly corrected.

lol, the NX won't have a $50k starting price in the US. it is an entry level CUV that will fit below the RX.

pruis only has a 1.8. why is there a $11k price differences between UK and US price? maybe because the cost of manufacturing is higher in other parts of the world.....

have a bought a BMW? i have own several. the only major differences between the base and higher trim level is they may include some carbon fiber and chrome here and there. but for the most part the leather and dash are pretty much the same.

Wow...lots of "forecasting" happening in this thread.

Lexus is obviously capable of positioning the NX competitively in terms of price, power and features vs. it's competitive set and existing lineup. I am most excited to learn more about the 2.0T engine and hope Lexus releases full specs on it at the NX's unveiling.

No, I have never owned a BMW. The only German car I have owned was a 2001 TT quattro. I currently own a 2006 IS350 and a 2011 RX350.

well its just common sense that an entry level NX (Rav4 base) would be priced lower than the RX.

x2, i want to learn more about this new 2.0t
