Android Auto for cars with Carplay only
I have a 2020 NX300 that was manufactured in 2019 and thus comes with wired carplay but no Android Auto. I recently discovered the Carlinkit 4.0 adapter dongle. It requires OEM wired Carplay. In addition to providing wireless Carplay to wired OEM carplay, it can also do Android Auto on cars with only Carplay like mine. I tried this months ago and returned it since the wireless Android Auto lag was so bad it was not usable. However, after recently reading a review on Amazon, i discovered an interesting feature. You can actually run the Android Auto over Carplay using a wired connection. This actually makes it VERY stable with almost no lag. You connect the dongle with a provided cable to your car, then use your OEM phone cable to connect your Android phone to the dongle. There is no need for BT or wifi setup.
The biggest drawback I have is that on the 10" display, the Android auto fills in about 75% of the screen in the middle with large black bars on each side. Wireless carplay on this dongle can fill the entire screen.
So if anyone who has been using this has been able to figure out how to fill the entire screen with Android Auto please tell me how.
I have logged into the setup screen and played with DPI and scree n resolution but haven't found the right combo. If I choose 1280 x 720, it fills the screen but is overblown and cuts off a lot of the screen. If i choose 800 x 480 then it is again not filling the screen. There is a custom size option but I can't seem to make the numbers i type in stick.
I know there are other options out there to get Android Auto to work on these cars through carplay but most are too complex (has a dedicated Android standalone system) and more expensive. This dongle was $68 on Amazon. I also suggest buying on Amazon prime so that you have great return policy as opposed to buying from somewhere that goes through China to ship it out.

I did briefly tried using wireless. It works better than I thought as far as lag but there was a disconnect. I have a road trip coming up which i will will using connected via wire.
