Default First winter with the GS...

I was out saturday night when it started snowing and I kept thinking of the threads I read in regards to snow and the GS. Well when it was time for me to go I figured hey let me see how bad is it really to drive the ol' little GS. It was like 4am when I was trekkin' back home and to be honest with you it wasn't bad at all. There is a big difference in the way the car acts depending on how heavy of a foot you have because of the torque in the GS...

i'm runnin' on stock 17's with pirellis P6.

Wait till there's more snow on the ground ...Like tomorrow

I've driven a GS4 during a 6 inch snowstorm all said and done, there were probably about 4-5 inches on the ground when I was driving, and the roads werent plowed. I was on the Northern State doing just under 30 mph and the car was sliding left and right the entire time. It was pretty tough, but not as bad as it would've been in my SC I think. Tires and foot weight will certainly have a lot to do with it like you said, lord knows my foot is made of lead

Same here, drove my GS300 AWD in the snow for the first time and it performed very well. Went to an empty parking lot in Herricks and went buck wild, doing some crazy turns and figure 8's. I've gotta say that the AWD was awesome and the VDC light only came on for a second when I gassed it hard while making sharp turns. This is with 18's and Pirelli PZero Neros.

The 06 has the VDIM system and will be oustanding in the snow. The 2nd gen will not do so well in the real messy stuff. The vsc will go hay wire and the rear end will fish tail like crazy. Had my gs4 for 5 years now.

My 98 gs4 has finally met snow for the first time this past Saturday. I found myself talking to my GS and telling her what the white stuff was. (blame goes to johnny walker)
Driving 5am with the heavy snow that morning was pretty bad. Even in snow mode my vsc light was flashing constantly. This is with 19's and hankook tires.

Anyone have any "winter preparation" ideas other than changing tires and wiper blades?

bags of sand in trunk??

Actually no heavy foot here. But I was on streets where it wasnt plowed at all so I would say I was riding on 2 inches of snow. I have a feeling its because of the crappy hankook tires I have.
Putting on stock 17's all season this weekend.

Exuse me? I aint no little punk homie. If I wanted to call you out i would. You think Im scared of you??? Grow up. this is a thread about the gs4's in the winter. i made a cooment about how the car handles in the snow and others responded too. If you feel it is directed to you personally you have issues.

Guys I'm ashamed of you. If you continue this kind of e-thug behaviour you'll be doing it on another forum in very short order.

CL is a community, not just a forum. Act like it and help each other out rather than call each other out.
