Default GS VS. Winter Driving?

Any midwesterners have horror or success stories with your GS in the winter months? I'm considering a certified GS, but wondering how badly the car deals with snow. I suppose the stock 17's are NOT an option if you live near inclement weather.

If you'll do a search on 'snow or ice' you'll see a bunch of posts on this exact subject.

Here's a sample search

Here are a couple of good ones.
