vibration
Does anybody know a good shop to balance and alignment wheels..
I have vibration on steeringwheel sometimes in the first 5 min of driving...
I have regular 16 in factory wheel..
I can feel vibration and when I turn the steering wheel even more..
it's 19k 2003 GS300 and never did alignment. I did wheel balanced about 4month ago at lexus.
Didn't had this problem before. LExus cost me 85 for wheel balance.. about 300 for alignment.
I need to know good shop in Long isalnd or new york area...
please let me know...

new yorker-
i had the same problem man, and i took my car to 2 different lexus dealerships and after charging me an arm and a leg, the problem came back! For some reason they suck at alignments and balancing, or so the ones i go to!
Believe it or not, i went to Sears and they did an awesome job! havent had the problem since!

Last weekend while scanning TV programs at noon time, I stumbled into Spike TV’s “Horsepower” where this guy Len Elmore was modding brakes on a Mustang. He mentioned on the show that if the car has been experiencing vibrations after the wheels are balanced, it could possibly need balancing of the front rotors. He showed that the vented front rotor has some balancing pieces inside. Could this be the solution that CL members have been looking for to finally get rid of steering vibrations? Has anybody in the forum done this yet? I tried the search option and did not find any.
If it is just in the first few minutes, like you say, it could be the tires flat-spotting after sitting for awhile. As they warm up with use, the rubber softens and conforms to its original shape.
If this is the case, then obviously new tires would be your best bet.
