Alignment/wheel balance problem? help!
A couple of weeks ago I put 20" Velociti rims with 255/35/20 Falkens on my 2000 GS4. The tires are a little bigger than spec I know, and they rub when I turn sharply in reverse, but otherwise were fine with the exception of some very slight steering wheel shake right at 65mph. I had seen some inner tire wear on my stock wheels so I took the car to Superior Lexus for an alignment and 4 wheel balance, which I figured would take care of the shaking. When the work was complete they showed me a diagram of how far out of alignment my car was when I brought it in and the corrections they had made-interesting considering the alignment didn't feel bad at all.
I left the dealership and now my car shakes HORRIBLY between 40 and 65mph. I took it back to the dealer this past Saturday and they tested all the tires for balance and slippage and couldn't find anything.
Does anyone have any idea what else this could be? Should I be going to a rim shop instead of the dealer?

Re: Alignment/wheel balance problem? help!
I had my 18's on and it was shaking bad, I took the rims off made sure everything was screwd in tight and all the spacers were in the right places, now it doesn't shake. The only time it shakes is when I put the break on at high speed but I think that is either balancing or breaks.
I had one of the wheels not screwd in all the way and the spacers were put in wrong I think that's why it was shaking.

Thanks.
I actually just got my car back today and it's quite a bit better. The dealer refunded my money so I'm taking it to a custom wheel shop for a high speed balance tomorrow.

If you drove for a while with bad alignment you could have ruined the tires so that no balancing will fix the shake.
