So... I've been going to the airport - Ft. Mifflin Rd. - lately, and I've been seeing mad people right near the UPS warehouses. Anyone of you guys know of the races down there? So far I've seen some pretty nice rides back there. Does anyone know where I'm talking about?

they definitely race. there's still a lot of that around philly, but when holstein and 61st street went down, everyone moved to different places and it's hard to find if you don't know everyone.

anyway, last time i drove down Ft. Mifflin Rd. it was two single file lines of cars, obviously lining up. here's a youtube video, i drove by that night and was hanging out for a bit.

there were tons of mustangs, a couple evos, sti's, grand national... you saw the evo in the video at least right? and the rest were ricers

 

Back in the day (insert old man voice) in the late 90's it was mostly domestics. The best part was watching hundreds of people running to their cars when one cop showed up with his lights on.

 

early 00/01' i remember some of the best races by the track / stadium...memories , as the years went by, the rice just kept increasing

 

i remember back in 2005/2006 Holstein St. and 61st street were the two places to be. Cops ran down on one spot and everyone would move to the other lol. It literally must've looked like police cars herding a bunch of tuners around like cattle. Anyway, Philly racing died after those two locations went down. The started opening up fire hydrants along the road, and impounding you just for spectating... so you can't race anymore. That's why I was so surprised seeing a pretty decent scene down by the airport, I was excited to see people still out and about doing their thing.

 

you remember while i know im old cause i remember hanging out all summer down at the hunts point from friday night right in to sunday night...also i remember meeting now my bestfriend over a r/c race that has never happen and where still fighting about now over 15 yr to see when are we going to race im also back mid 90's
