Take it to the dealer and they will replace it. The cat is not working properly. Also I would replace bank 1 sensor 1 & 2 while your at it.

Dealer may have you replace the sensors first before they warranty the cat so you will have to pay for that and if it comes back on they will do the cat under warranty and use the new sensors on that.
I would do a proper diagnostic on the cat first before changing it. Monitoring the data of the post oxygen sensor and also looking into MODE 6 to see if the cat still good or not.

hey guys, so i took the car into the dealership, and there was a exhaust leak as well as a bad cat, o2 sensor readings were fine!
its covered under warranty so they are replacing my passenger cat and i guess its the intermediate pipe due to an exhaust leak

Yes, exhaust leak before the cat can show a bad cat because of the extra oxygen

I already checked the VVT-I solenoid, it was working fine, filter ok. I took it to Toyota they suspect the problem in that area too which i have doubt about what they said. I took it to Autl Electrician, According what he said it was a broken wire in the Loom, he fixed it, now it is alright. thanks, it was a wiered problem because when we replaced the engine , Loom was alright.

okay i need some clarification on the JZ series crank pulley. My engine came without the crank pulley so ive been looking for stock replacements. But i have a few questions
1. is there a difference between 1/2jzge and 1/2jzgte crank pulleys?
2. my engine set came from a 1st gen. GS300 will only 1st gen JZ crank pulleys work?
3. Could i use a underdrive (cheapo ebay 1) crank pulley with my stock accessory pulleys? (alt., power steering, mechanical water pump)

Hello, I drive a 94 es300 and I'm having trouble starting up my car after rain and extremely hot weather. At first I thought it was the alternator, got that replaced. But first I did the battery. Then, moved to the starter. There's a hole in my flex pipe, and I'm planning on putting that on next. But anyway I was expecting a distributor cap problem (thinking maybe moisture) but the lexus doesn't have that. Could it be the sparks plugs and coil packs. This is becoming a nausence to me, cuz I brought it from a private owner who said it was taken care of, but I knew that I had to do work to it but I wasnt expecting to do this much work so soon. I just need to get the right answer before I proceed with the repairs. Thanx.

(Ps the battery and alternator were bad)

I have a 4WD 2000 RX300. I experienced problems with the battery, replaced the battery and now the truck will start, but will not go into gear and the interior lights, dash and console, are not working. I did a little research and found that it may be the alternator fuse. After checking the fuse box, we discovered the previous owner had jimmy rigged the fuse, so I purchased a new fuse from the dealer, 140A. My son is working on the truck and can not figure out how to install the fuse it doesn't seem to fit into the slot.
Thanks in advance for you assistance.

Hello,

I am having an issue with Mark Levinson audio system of a 2001 LS430 (Germany).

I have the ML audio system and an old handsfree telephone option from Siemens.

First, there was some erratic noise even if the radio/cd was switched off. This changed a few days ago: When I start the car, I can hear sound for a few seconds and the the sound completely switches off.

What I have done so far:
- My amp was defective last year and I have sent it to the repair shop which did the repair (I had a 1 year warrany on their work). I believe they are very professional (actually, they are specialised on Lexus amps). They verified that the amp is working fine.
- I removed the handsfree telephone module. I haven't found the relay, yet, for the mute wire.
- When I got the amp back, I disconnected one of the 3 wire harnesses just to figure out if I can trace back where the erratic noise comes from (navigation, radio?). I believe it comes from the radio. Since I did this, the error changed (car starts -> a few seconds sound -> silence).
- I bought a new radio/cd and installed it. The error did not change.

Questions:
- Could I have damaged something by disconnecting the wire harnesses?
- How can I get into the diagnostic menu? I am not sure what is meant by "info switch". I have a "Option" switch and when I click on it, I have a "Information" button on the touch screen. Is this meant by "Info switch"?
- How can I locate the mute wire? Where does it go (amp/radio) and which pins are used?

Thank you for your help
Alex

Default LS 400 280k miles Trying to get to 300k

FYI -

1999 LS 400 brought into dealer with faulty headlights and air conditioning that just froze up. Dealer quotes $250 for part to replace headlight switch. Also quoted $1400 for replacing a/c clutch and compressor. Could not just the clutch be replaced? Hate to spend upwards to $2k on a car that is not work much more. Car / engine still ride great. Appreciate advice / prior experience of anyone

Default Shift Solenoid Problem

I have an 92 SC300 with 194,000 miles on the clock

I have been getting a flashing O/D off light and the transmission shifts from 1st to 2nd very early (around 10 mph) with a thump. It seems to shift more smoothly if I manually shift from L to 2nd at around 20 mph)

The trannie code says it is a Code 63, Number 2 shift solenoid.

So far I have not pulled the pan (the fluid is cherry red) but I have done some other diagnostics. AT the ECM end of the wiring harness (with harness disconnected) I get about 15 ohms on all three solenoids (spec says they should be 10 to 16 ohms). Also, when applying 12 volts at the ECM end (pins 8, 9, and 10) I can hear each solenoid click.

The Lexus Repair manual says the Code 63 is related to either the # 2 Solenoid, the wiring from the ECM to the solenoid, or a bad ECM (which was replaced only a few months ago).

The manual seems to indicate that the problem is electrical. Is it possible that a mechanical or hydraulic failure of the solenoid (e.g leaky O-ring) could cause the Code 63?

Any other ideas?
