Cutting Rotors in Queens
Hey guys, i'm trying to help my girls brother with his brakes but I dont know the shops in Bayside too well. Does anyone know a shop that cuts rotors around bayside, queens? I called autozone and rs Struass and one kid even said to me, "no one really cuts rotors anymore".
Its rear rotors on an '03 Matrix, so i dont really think he needs to spend $110+ on rotors compared to a $20 resurface.
Any help is appreciated.

Not sure what places you have there but Sears Auto will resurface them, NTB and their other names (merchants, tire king) as well, and Pep Boys does. This is in VA not sure if the rules are different in NY.

i can do it for you at my job .... im in hillside nj though, how much brakepads did u have left when u changed them, they werent metal to metal already right, cus if so u might need new rotors. it takes about an hour for both depends how warped it is. let me know if i can help.
Just use sand paper and brillo pads, haha.
I dunno if you got this done already Ko, but try the Shea area. someone's gotta be willing to do it there.
also, I know you mentioned you don't wanna replace the rotors, but i'd rec. replacing them if they are old.

Same problem here from a Queens resident. Noone seem to have the machinery to turn/surface rotors anymore... called "whiteys tire in brklyn said they only change now, pepboys in metropolitan ave said no, theres not much napa's around here, and a few independent shops around richmond hill say they dont have the proper machine anymore?)
anyone know for sure of a trust worthy shop & up-to date that still has the machinery and a price to turn/resurface rotors?
