Default Polished valve cover/ Engine Build *Pics*

So i hate the Pats and well i came to terms with them being the best team in the NFL this year. So around half time i decided to polish the valve cover for my gte motor. Let me tell you its a lot of work. One down one to go.

Looking great. I'm not to familiar with the polishing process. What did you use to polish it with?

well i started with a wire wheel to get most of the oxidation off it then i sanding and sanding and oh wait some more sanding. Started with 120 grit then 180,240,320. Then i used a polishing kit that i got at harbor frieght to with different polishing compounds to bring it to a shine. 4 hrs later and im almost done with one.

I think i might just have to polish everything in my engine to get over the fact that the steelers didnt make it this year.

If you think that's allot of work, wait to you try keeping it clean once it's on the car.
I've polished many motorcycle frames. So I can appreciate what you've done. There is no way around it.
It is just plain dirty work !
One suggestion is to really polish them to almost perfect, then have them powdercaoated clear. Powdercoatings have come along way in the last few years. This will help keep that rich shine.

And yes, it looks like the pats are the best...I'm not a pats fan, but you have to give it to them. Something about them that just isn't exciting to watch.
It's almost like watching a race for the wreck at this point...I'm more curious to see who beats them, and how.

After all of the work that you are going to put in polishing them, def have them powder coated clear. This will help in keeping them clean and you will have alot less elbow greese to clean them. Good job.

Big *****'s right, just plain dirty work!!! In the end I usually just use steel wool #1 thru #0000 with some compound & it comes out good. Get ur finger band aids ready. Good stuff

Finally they both are close to done. I still have some sanding to do to get all the fine scratches.
