Post Brake rotors and pads...?

Ok, so my front brake rotors are warped but I have relatively new brake pads. I'm wondering if I were to replace the front brake rotors would the pads need replacement too? In other words, do brake pads become uneven if they are used with warped rotors? It would be nice to not have to buy new pads since I just bought them .

Default New pads too...

Brake pads and rotors/disks wear together a certain way so they will have to be changed together. You could get by if you just changed the pads and noticed the vibration, say less than 500 miles. Cheers.

Default pads too

I would recommend changing the pads too. Do the job once, spend the extra $ and get pads and then be sure the job is done right.

Earl, to answer your question, brake pads do become uneven when used with warped rotors. However, all else being equal, your pads should come to conform to your new rotors and even itself out. If money is not an object, I'd say change the pads while you're in there, but it's not disastrous if you keep your old pads, provided that they are in good condition. I try and turn/cut my rotors about every other time that I change the pads, to try and head off any vibration issues.

Post Thanks guys

I appreciate all the responses, thanks guys . My front rotors are only slightly warped. I will probably buy some new pads for those, but I just installed new rear pads, they have less than 200 miles on them so those should be good. The vibration is not too bad but its starting to annoy me so I figured this would be a good project. Time to do some ordering .
