OK to clear OBD Fault Codes once for confirmation?
Check engine, TRAC OFF, Check VSC lights came on.
OBD II indicates O2 Sensor: Bank 1, Sensor 1. (P0133, P2196)
I cleared Fault Codes using the software for the OBD device.
If the warning lights don't come back on, is it safe to assume the "malfunction" was temporary and can be ignored?
I experienced a similar situation a few years ago. Cleared the codes and they never returned!
I'm no expert on this, but my thinking (and from previous experience) is that you just need to keep an eye on it - meaning, just sit and wait for the alert(s)/code(s) to appear again - or not !
My thinking is that it is possible for a component to 'send' a wrong 'signal' to the computer. Sort of like a 'blip'.
