Default bezel removal on 99 GS

I have the drawing for the instrument panel and bezel and I think I see a screw for the bezel. Could someone who has removed the bezel please describe how you did it? I need to feltpad it because it rattles a lot.

Thanks.

There are no screws. Just try to slip it out.

I am bad about prying plastic out...are there any clips that I need to worry about?

Couple of informational threads that will help you see what's behind the bezel and how to do it. Good luck.

Ooops, nope. Missed that 'instrument' word you had in your earlier post

I don't recall seeing a DIY on that. Take pics and post one if you can, good luck!

I have a dig camera so let's see if I can get it off. I think bananaGS has a pic of his instrument panel removal. I might see if that works for me.

If not, I'll post pics of a broken bezel!

The instrument panel bezel pulls straight out. It's easy.

See BananaGS' site here: http://lexusmodz.netfirms.com/GS_DIY/instrumentpanel/

I've seen his pics but the diagram I have from the dealer makes it appear that there is a screw on the bottom of bezel. But I could be reading it wrong.

When I took mine off last year, it just came out. No screws.

Okay, that's good to know. I pull it straight out and see what happens. The rattling is starting to bother me again.

Default results are in

I was able to pull it straight out just like others have said. I found that there was felt all around it already. I don't know if the dealer installed it or it's from the factory. Since i had them look at the rattles many times I assume that they installed the kit. Using felt I bought from Lowes for $1.98, I placed them in various spots and after there test drives I was able to get rid of most of the rattles. I can see a little of the felt but I am okay with that because the rattles have subsided.

The real test comes tomorrow when I drive it over my irregular bumps. I hope it holds up.
