With a Gdi engine a low noack oil is important. It means less carbon build up on the valves. Pennzoil platinum ultra has the lowest noack . It would be the only oil I'd use. Plus it has less impurities than other major oils on the market.

Amsoil is formulated to prevent LSPI (low speed pre ignition) in GDI cars. Check out the web site. You can't buy a better synthetic oil anywhere.
Carbon build up can also be reduced by using a top tier gasoline.

I have done a lot of research in this two brands and others. I have found that AMSOIL signature series is the best out there, but at a cost. Pennzoil on the other hand, is one of the best. I do not know that for twice the price AMSOIL will give my car twice the performance. Now, I saw the AMSOIL also offers the XL series. How is AMSOIL’s XL series compared to Pennzoil Ultimate platinum.

Amsoil likes to use extra zinc to gain performance. Zinc has slowly been getting reduced in most brands because it's a catalytic converter killer. Plus a product that is as good as they claim it is doesn't need to be marketed like the do. They spam the internet with more than 300 domain names. Most of them they try to make it look like it was made by someone independent, till you open the website. Then you see they are all made by amsoil. So I don't care if there oil is good or not, I don't deal with spammers. Even royal purple, and other boutique oil makers don't do that. They may sponsor events but don't spam you.

I order it from Walmart dot com get it shipped to the store for free. Only $25 for a 5 quart jug. Don't know why Walmart doesn't stock it in some stores anymore. You can get it at autozone or o'rielly's but it like $35 for the same thing.
