I've installed a copy of techstream v10.30.xxx. I have a couple of obd2 cables that I used for Audi before. I wonder if a special cable is necessary to access all the functions of techstream.

I haven't tried yet.

 

you need a mini-vici cable

 

Your obdII might work but there are 2 type of protocals for cars. i forgot the names
also you need the drivers so if you open techstream go to select VIM and you need to be sure you have drivers for support.
