Hey there,

New user here, i've got a 2001 SMB IS300, front bumper is cracked, looking to replace but i've called more then a few places in the Bay Area and most have been pretty unreasonable to paint just a simple item like a bumper?

Anyone know of a good shop in the bay area (san jose) that will paint the bumper?

I'm in Oakland here, DentPro has a place in alameda that specializes in repair of urethane bumpers. Called DentPro Colors. You might want to check em out. Maybe they have a place in San Jose. The nunber is 1-887-336-8776. Or Dentpro.com. Let me know how it comes out if you go there. Would love to have the scratches and dings taken out of my rear bumper mylelf.

curious, what is the SMB of 2001 SMB IS300?

just make sure when they paint the bumper, they add the flex. I see too many aftermarket paint jobs pealing cause shops try to skimp and the flex agent wasn't added.

Actually I think it's technically called SBM (Spectra Blue Mica), body color of the IS300 in question. That's one fine-looking color on the car!

 

Take a look at DuPont auto paint. I had the lower portion of my RX painted all black to match the rest of the car, after I got extreme peeling on the back bumper. Two maniac drivers slamming into my back later, and the car looks just like the day it was painted. Really strong stuff.
