Injector or oil tick?
I have a 05 LS430 with 115k on the clock. For a lil over a year now I've noticed a light ticking sound under light acceleration. The ticking is not really heard while the car is in park and idling and usually goes away under moderate to heavy acceleration. I'm wondering if this is due to oil viscosity or is this normal injector ticking? I'm using the forum-renowned Mobil 1 5w30. Is it safe to use a higher viscosity oil and if it is injector tap, are there remedies to cure this? Thanks in advance.

injectors are just kinda noisy sometimes, and nothing you can really do to take care of it, short of swap out all your injectors - not something I would want to do unless for performance reasons...
might be a valve lash issue - without looking it up I am sure lash is adjustable through use of shims but would better be left for a good tech, as it can be a big pain to replace them without special tools, or lots of additional work...
Actually after listening to it more, i believe its injector tick. A tap would be more pronounced. As others stated, these cars are sorta known for the injector tick and its not a big of a deal. I just wish it would have that sound because its quite annoying to have that sound in a car like this. OH well!
