Question Antifreeze mixing ratio???

I always use Toyota antifreeze and distilled water when I change my antifreeze. I've always pushed the ratio near 70:30 antifreeze:distilled water. I just came from the www.redlineoil.com site and it appears that the greater percentage of antifreeze and less amount of heat dissipation from your engine. Can anyone get technical?

I know about the glycols "never" wearing out and that you change your fluid simply to get the rust inhibitors replenished. I just never knew that by putting more antifreeze in you could be retarding your timing and hurting engine performance.

Fact or fiction

my understading is the more water the better the cooling.
It all depends on which part of the country you live in and what kind of winter protection you need.

More water better cooling but more rust.

More antifreeze less engine cooling but less rust.

There is also brand new stuff that the Truckers use.
I forget the name but basicaly no rust and doesn't need changing for 300,000 miles with all the cooling you want. Can only be baught from Big Rig suppliers.

Best bet just follow the Lexus Owners manualy for recomendations.

maximum is 50:50, you can tried 40 coolant and 60 water. You live in VA it does get cold there. 70:30 is not good.
