My wife claims that the windshield of our GS4 is completely drenched with water coming from under the hood as any large water puddle is approached. Yesterday, she said it was occurring as the heavy rains filled the gutters along the roads.
Has anyone experienced this before and if so, is there any remedy?
I imagine the water could be coming in from the wheel-wells and because of the underside engine cover, the water is forced up and out of the engine compartment through the wiper vents. (of course, I'm just guessing).
Would there be some drain holes somwhere that could be clogged?
Thanks for your help.

err..... that doesn't sound right to me?! first there shoudl be a big plastic flap unde the car to prevent water and dust. also, wheel well there is no way water can get to the engine bay unless tehere is a big hole?
for my car, even if it's big rain, after driving fast for a while, i stop the car and open up the hood, and things inside my engine bay are still dry, except the water dripping from the hood opening.
have you tried to see if under the hood it's all wet after driving through puddles?

romini's correct. Sounds like your splashshield and/or wheel well liners (more likely the splash shield, since you can see your well liners without difficulty) is either missing or partially unattached.

i think so, couple of screws to the front bumper, but there are couple other attachment points too towards the back, to the left and right of the area under the engine i believeOriginally Posted by Canyonero

I only ask because I can see the ground when I'm looking down toward the back of the engine. There seems to be no cover or shield toward the back of the engine, where the tranny is.Originally Posted by rominl
