No fixing the valve seal problem could cost you more down the road like O2 sensors accumulating dirt from the extra oil and more crude in you throttle body.

When I mentioned the throttle body and O2s I was talking about long term effects from oil burning. A cheap alternative to cleaning the engine would be to try synthetic oil for a oil change or two it may loosen some build up inside the engine if the damage is not already done. If the engine was over revved more than likely it could be valve seals and rings. I would use premium gas and synthetic oil and take a trip somewhere to let the engine run at high speeds for a extended period of time. As long as you're not losing oil the trip may do some good. Is the maintenance up to date?have you checked the plugs to see if there is oil residue on them? they should be changed at 90k, if you drive hard I would change them more frequently between 60-80k. Use factory oil and air filter. The cheap oil filters will restrict oil flow as the engine revs cheap air filter restrict air and they will pay for themselves with better gas mileage. A experienced ear can tell if a sub par oil filter is on the engine just by the way it sounds let alone how it runs. Good Luck.
