does any one know what would cause the thing below to not work ... its called an 'afm'

any help would be great

 

what year is it 84-89 they are know to go bad when moisture sets in it.

 

his is a ~93 or so ... does the moisture idea still apply?

 

I used to have 91 MR2s, a turbo and a non-turbo. Is your turbo?

If it is junk that stupid AFM flapper system and replace it with a HKS VPC. They are harder to find these days, but a Vein Pressure Convertor will remove tons of restrictions in the intake system.

There was a fix posted for the AFM for people that mistakenly got throttle body cleaner in it, effectively destroying it. Try the MR2 Owners Club website for that fix.

 

its a turbo ... further investigation into this VPC seems like a good idea thanx for the advice
