Default Turbo help!

I have a 94' Turbo GS300 and was hoping a fellow Lexus turbo owner could help
me out. Anyway, I had a question for you, I have the FMax
turbo kit T04E-60-1 on my 94' GS300. I bought the car with the turbo and the
guy was big into rally racing so what he did was instead of having the blow
off valve go off and hear it like you normally would, his is recirculated back
into the system so according to him on cornering since it was being reused the
system didn't have to rebuild that pressure that normally would have been
released when you take a sharp corner fast. Am I making any sense, have you
ever heard of this? So my point is, I would rather lose that little bit of
power and get the noise instead. Any idea how to go about doing this, or what
he did to recirculate the pressure realease? I would like the BOV to be as
loud as possible, any suggestions on what to do and what BOV to use, etc. See the attch
pics. SOrry no close ups, those are the ones I had.
Thanks,
Matt

where is the BOV? I don't see it.

Basically, seems like he didn't use a BOV. Seems like he simply had a tube returning the air back to the throttle body. Find out where that tube is (seems like the top left tube coming out from the large pipe). Seems like you'll need to get rid of that part and custom fabricate a mount for a BOV. Afterall, this is a turbo kit not a factory turbo car. Maybe needs modification.

Not sure, check with the previous owner or FMAX.

I think you should get a bov in order to avoid pressure surge. Do you ever get on the car and hear a weird noise coming from the turbo? It sounds like, fhisssh, fhi, ch, ch, ch. Lol!!! Any how, that's turbo surge. If you do decide to get a bov, put it as close to the intake manifold as possible. If your looking for sound, put it on the driver's side of the fmic at the inlet. This is how I have my bov installed.(Btw, I have a Blitz bov on my Supra) Extremely loud. I think that Blitz SS bov's have a very nice sound to them. Also, HKS racing bov type 2 or, a Turbonetic's Godzilla bov.(Ridiculously loud) I hope this helps a bit. Take care, Mike D.

I'd post this over on Supraforums.com.

Good luck.

No problems with surge, it runs out great never had any problems at all.

http://www.autonetperformance.com/turbokits/gsturbo.htm

It has a HKS racing bypass valve, is that what is in the front left corner if looking at the front of the car? It says HKS on it, but it the bypass valve or is that the BOV. It is right below where the big black stock air flow thing goes on that side. I sound stupid saying all this, I really wish that I knew my car better than I do...

hey man I think you are talking about a ( Plumb Back System ) some people use this depends on the cars ECU.. I own a GTR34 and i know some fellow owners have installed BOV's (that vented out to the atmosphere) and they had idleling problems and the car stalled when standing still, WHY? because the ECU calculates the amount of air in the intake and if your BOV vents the amount of air is changed and the ECU doesnt recognize the change....

This is why the do a plumb back BOV,, Less sound but no idle problem... however you can change that if you have an aftermarket ECU you can control the Idle for and the car will not stall in stand still....

I do not have any other reason for using a plumb back BOV I hope this helps
