Angry A/C suddenly quits?

I have a 92 LS 400. The day before the A/C worked fine. The next day when I drove the car the A/C just blows hot air. One thing I noticed is that the A/C time and temp gauge light is out. If Anybody has a simple solution please let me know. The fuse is still good in the fuse box for the A/C. Im thinking something may not be connected properly. I had the hood up the day before looking at my windshield wipers and cleaning leaves and pine straw out of the engine comparment.

Thanks

When was the last time you checked the refrigerant level? If you never did it, that's probably your problem. Another possibility is a leak, but you have to fill it up first. With your car running R12, you're out of luck; you need to take it to a service station to replenish the R12, then check for leaks. Expect to pay big bucks for the service.
I had A/C failure on my GS when new: all the lights worked fine, but nothing happened (no blower or A/C compressor). The exception was the "outside temp" indicator, which read "- -" instead of a number. This is a third option, so check out that indicator.
Hope this helps.

If your ac system is low on freon the low press. switch will not allow you ac comp. clutch to engage. You need to put on the ref. gauges to find out what your press. are.I recomend that if you have no experience to have an ac shop take a look at it.

Default simple...

your problem may be...

If the OAT sensor circuit is open the climate control ECU will think the OAT is sub-freezing and the A/C compressor will not run.

The sensor is behind the front bumper just forward of the A/C condensor.
