K&N Recharge kit question
When doing a recharge on the conical air filter with the K&N recharge kit, how long should one wait after rinsing and before oiling? i.e. how long does it take this sucker to dry after rinse? 20 minutes in the sun should do it no?

Yeah, that should be fine as long as it's not completely drenched. What I do is remove my filter, tap off any loose crap that might be stuck to it, brush it off with this really soft brush I have, then spray the cleaner solution all over it and wait like 30 seconds. Then I rinse it off with plain old hose water next to my garage and kinda wrap a towel around it to soak up the excess water. Then I sit it on a towel or some newspaper out in the sun and let it dry out for like 30 minutes or so. (I always do this air filter maintenance when I have absolutely nothing to do). Once I'm satisfied it's dry I spray some oil on (not too much though, you don't want it to foul your MAF) and reinstall the filter and that's it. Takes about an hour total but like I said, I do this when I have absolutely nothing else to do
Hope this helps big dawg

Yeah, it's almost easier to just buy a new one for $50 and pop it in. Unfortunately.
I don't know what my deal is, but when I reinstall my filter I sometimes malform/semi-crush it by pressing it back onto my Injen intake tube. It has to be seated as far down as it can go but sheesh, it has no rigidity whatsoever and ends up getting twisted or slightly crushed. Whateva

Like he said, DO NOT spray too much oil on it. You don't want to screw up the MAF sensor...
