What do people use for rubber protection?
I've been using Lexol's Vinylex. However, I want to use a silicone lubricant to protect the rubber and prevent sticking during the winter. What do people use? Some say a regular silicone lube will do but all I've seen have some sort of petroleum distillate in the ingredients which I recall causes rubber deterioration. Wonrg or right? Any suggestions? And where to get it would be helpful.

I currently use the Vinylex and Aerospace 303.
Vinylex under the hood and Aerospace on the exposed inner and outer door seals; along with the vinyl in the interior.
Silicon will degrade the rubber and is not a good idea for automobile rubber.
The same with grease and petroleum distillates, as you suggested.
Might I suggest using the Vinylex to coat the seal well, let it dry a day or so.
Wipe clean.
Then take a bit if talcum powder in an old sock toe and lightly pat or dust down the seals. Wipe down any excess.
