Default E-brake light comes on

1997 es300
In the last week or so, I have noticed the the BRAKE light that comes on when you hit the E-brake has been flashing once and a while. Has this happened to anyone else?

brake fluid may be low, check the level on the master cylinder reservoir.

It may be the fluid, but it may also be a faulty sensor.

Always a good idea to have the four sets of brake pads checked for excess wear, prior to topping off the brake fluid reservoir.

Toyota/Lexus reservoir level sensors are very sensitive. Even when the fluid is within the inscribed Min/Max lines you can still get the warning light. Usually happens when you go around a corner or come to a stop (liquid in res. is not level or sloshes).

Just bring the level up to max. in the res. with new fluid and the light should go away. If it does not, then you may have other problems. First start with an emergency brake inspection.

I am pretty sure it is just the fluid level.
