Hello people. my car approaching 30k miles. How much should I expect to pay? I'm going to LongoLexus btw. Will skipping things save me some cost? Such as not doing the cleaning the air filter.

All depends on what dealer you go to. Some dealers do the minimum, some go all out. Get a list on what's exactly done.

You get what you pay for!

Default A lot more

I was told the GS 30K mile service was something like $500

Most of this work is labor to change fluids. If you want to do this yourself and save a LOT of money, you can probably buy all the parts and fluids for less than $50. The only unknown is the A/C filter - not sure how or where to buy that part (except from Lexus).

For example, Lexus charges something like $75 for a new air filter. That's friggin robbery. Purolator filters can be had at a local parts store for less than $20.

Thx...Doug

thanks alot.

I DO NOT know how to change those fluids myself....

So is there ANYTHING I can skip and not do and save some money? Like I dont' need to change the engine air filter.

Hey Globe,

Just had my 30M service at Glendale. They did a nice job Total cost including tax was $253. This was after the discount for my own mobil 1 oil and filter as well as a 10% discount coupon they mailed to me a while back.

I'm sure some can find it cheaper - especially with non lex service, but this worked out ok for me. BTW, i had everything done. One service advisor told me they did NOT change the tranny fliud at 30K. Make sure you know what they are going to do.

thanks duster.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go to Longo for the 30k. They've been great and is alot closer to me than Glendale

253 including tax sounds very good. How come I never get coupons in the mail?!?

Also I remember there was this place online where I can get a list of what they're doing for each service. I think it was Lexus.com but I can't find it. Where can I find something like that?

A good dealer will tell you what is really needed, as opposed to the costly Lexus suggested work.
