you can still use it for those small bolts, but not the really big ones that take alot of back to break.you can pick a decent one up from autozone thats the click type for like $20, thats what i did
I saw some torque wrenches at sears for sale at a good price. I have this
one (Item number 00944594000 ) which works pretty well for me.
10-75 lbs/ft. is kinda weak for wheel lug nuts. I got a Husky 150 lbs/ft. from Home Depot for $68.
Check the spec carefully, that 20-150 lbs/ft. Crapsman is a 1/2" driver, not 3/8". Unless you have both sets of 1/2" and 3/8" of course. Frankly I like Husky over Crapsman, feels more solid.
For spark plugs, use something more precise - lbs-inches. I have a no-name lbs-inches torque wrench. Used it for my last car. I think it was $35 or something.
I went to Home Depot and picked up Husky's small 3/8" and big one 1/2". They were like $68 each. I've needed torque wrenches for years....so I just did it.
Now I guess I need a manual to tell me what the specs are for my car......
.... Please Remember - ALWAYS turn down the torque setting to it's lowest setting when returning it to storage. Failure to do so will cause the tool to fall out of calibration. This is a good post!
