This is a weird one! never had it happen before, and I hope it doesn't happen again...
My husband and I were tool' n down the freeway .. going about 70 or 75 ( in my 92 SC400).
He turned the turned signal on to change lanes,,, and the Power went off,, I mean all the dashlights, egnition, everything,,,,, just went off! ... As he tries to coast to the side of the road,, all the sudden it comes back on.... it was so wierd... We contiuned on home with on problems, We got home and could not duplicate the problem.. No recent maintance has been done on the car.
The only thing differnent is the weather has turned cold and wet..
If anyone has had a simlar experience I would appreicate a post.. Thanks
sounds liek a short somewhere, maybe an exposed wire got wet. my car is 15 years old and as yet, i have not had any eletrical issues with it **knocks on wood**
but your system will also do that if there was a ground loose somewhere. hopwever,it would not have come back on as the fuse woudl have overloaded.
the first thing i would do is give it a few days of driving and see fi the problem recourrs (sp?) if it does, then check all the fuses to make sure that they arent loose..
I hope it doesn't happen again, I hate those problems that are intermittent, I ( sometimes) wish that it would just break, so I could fix it and move on...
as a precaution, do me a favor, or your husband, whoever knows what they are looking at under the hood fo the car, it makes no difference who really. im assuming its you since you brougth this to our attention.
anyway, go out into the garage and look at the wires going to the fuel injectors. is the insulation dry/brittle?
i assumed she already did that, she kind of hinted that she looked and couldnt find anything obvious, si i assumed she at least glanced under the hood.
yes hatcht, if you havent done so yet, check the barrety cabels/connections.
Thanks all for the "things to check for" I will ( or have the hubby) go and check the wiring, ( really close),,, I just did a quick once over( it was to damn cold outside). I will post what ( we ).. find anything.. Oh! and 98 SC300. (ed)... NO flying things yet,, but that would probably explain it.. have a great holiday season.. to you all.
