Default Valentine V1 malfunctioning??

Hey guys, I just recently upgraded from an Escort X50 to a Valentine V1 and have been having problems. I have a system installed in my car and for some reason, if I bump it like how I normally do, the V1 shuts off. After shutting off it tries to turn back on, but it seems to "struggle" like theres not a constant flow of power to keep it on. I never had this problem with my X50 when I turned up the system. Can someone tell me whats going on?

is it hard wired or are you using the cig-lighter power?

I never really had a problem with mine except for when the plug gets loose and its not full inserted since i have a multi tap on my cig lighter and it gets loose every now and then. i don't have a system in my car but the bumpin from the base might be enough to knock it loose,

try hardwiring it to a pwersource, that should fix it since it will have constant power

Im using the cig-lighter, but it doesnt get loose or anything. I was planning on getting a hardwiring kit and hope that it fixes everything.

it could be a faulty power cord or its not getting a good contact in the power outlet. I would hard wire if you can.

I bought the radar from someone local, but they did not provide me with the hardwiring kit. It does seem like the power cord is a bit old, so I am going to try and hardwire it.
