Default Intake Clean

Hi, Everyone

Could anybody upload some pictures to see how to clean the intake system for a 92' Es300? My car fells vibration between 1500 to 2000 rpm whatever which gear are you in, that annoys me so long time. And I have checked the engine, transmission mounts, no problems of them. Then I am just wondering if the intake system is dirty. I saw so many people cleaned it by themself in this forum, but no pictures to make this procedure clearly. Can anyone give me a big help? Thanks in advance.

if you have to ask, then dont bother to attempt........
......jk.

its really simple.
first locate your intake box. it should be the big black box right above the battery
secondly, after you've located the box, unclip the four clips that hold your box into place. when you get these unclipped, lift the box.
the intake tube may or maynot be in your way, restricting the movment of the box, so its your choice to remove that from the box too, but its purely optional. you can do this by unscrewing the band on the tube to loosen it up. then you can pull it off with some force. CAUTION! if your intake tube is old and brittle, then dont use too much force on it. it will crack easily . this is a 60-70 dollar replacement from toyota.
when you have the box taken off, remove the filter and clean it with compressed air, hair dryer, or simply replace it with a new one. do not clean your filter with water!

sorry if my post was too long or complicated, but its a real simple job.
CLIFFNOTES: undo the clips and take off the box lid to reveal your filter.

You probably have buildup in your Throttle Body. You can use a t/b spray cleaner to help clean up the junk that has built up in there over the years. Be careful to not use too much.

I have tried to clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner. But problem remains, The car works more smooth but the 1500-2000rpm problem is still there. Any other ideas?? Thanks.

By the way, I got a little bit leaking of the waterpump. Do you think it will cause the problem?

Quite a few things can cause vibration so I really dont know what to say. I had some vibration when my car was idle (SC). After getting new exhaust the idle became much smoother. So there might be a hole in your exhaust or something. Be sure to check it out.
