Default How much did vandalism cost you?

I just ate 2014 dollars on 1 broken front driver window on a '99 LX470, the little leather piece was damaged that is right under window, as is the passenger side's same panel(it was front seat area). Did I get a fair cost when they went and replaced the door panel at 700 a pop, the window cost appx 500.? I'm just wondering, I'm thinking I should have gone to Toyota Landcruiser parts, the damage 1/1/04, great start to the year.

Discounted prices for OEM Lexus materials:

front door glass: $213
trim panels: ~$500 (+/- $50)

Considering full price for parts (and a few clips here and there), and add for labor, looks about right, but a little on the high end. Did the repair come out OK? Also, I assume that your insurance paid for the damage?

The repair apparently came out fine by what my brother said. On a previous apperance at the dealership weeks before, you know the center console lid? if you snap that little teeny black plastic clamp that holds the top lid down, it costs appx. 250(conveniently the stronger, much less broken 2nd lid replacement is 17 dollars lol). personal experience on that one. Insurance did not cover vandalism, they are stillll smarting after an incident in which a girl backed into my dad's 911, the deductible was 1000 on the LX, so in my dad's view, it wasnt really worth it to tack it to insurance. Owell, live and learn, time to go to salvage part searching next time. btw, my dealership is Eskridge Lexus, and they are the only game in town for Lexus's, closest other place is Dallas... competitive rates woulda been nice. Can't wait to get another 100K miles in the car, it'll be just fine.

Sounds like it is time to move to a lower deductible. The premium savings just aren't worth the peace of mind that you lose by not having a $100 comprehensive deductible. You drive nice cars. Don't get chintzy with the insurance...
