My new lx 600 when filled with full tank shows a range of 276!
Published range is 358 in city. What is going on here? Lexus keeps telling me this will correct itself after more miles on the car!
Published range is based on a set of ideal test condiitions, whereas the range on your computer is based on your specific ciircumstances. Range will be affected by how and where you drive, as well as brand and grade of fuel used, and the computer will make its calculations based on how much fuel is actuallly used over how many miles actually driven. The longer you drive, the more it learns, and the more accurate it will become.

Quick google shows you have a 21.1 gallon tank. Did you try pumping more after the 1st click on the pump? I would think you should’ve been able to pump more than 19.3 gallons.

You drove until the engine sputter and it only takes 19.3? Or the fuel warning light comes on?
Here’s a 3gallons or so reserve Lexus program for the low fuel light to come on.
Also, I wouldn’t try to pump more fuel after the trigger has clicked. You might cause damage to the vapor line.
Yes, like the OP said... when the gas nozzle clicks, do not try to fuel more as there are EVAP lines somewhere along the refill neck that needs 'to air out' (I think to the canister)...so if you pump more gas once the gun clicks, it may over filled will eventually damage EVAP - CEL will alert you too - fail smog? Also do not let the gas run so long before refuel, as the fuel pump uses gas to cool down so if the gas run so low the pump will run too hot and will shorten its life.
